Cultural events: bringing cultures together

Come and experience our diverse community. CDR's events give the cultural groups of Fargo-Moorhead a stage to share their performances, food, crafts, and stories with their neighbors.

CDR hosts Pangea: Cultivate Our Cultures, a free family festival every November at the Heritage Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead, and co-presents the Native American Festival and Educational Series in Fargo each November. With partner organizations, we also support numerous other cultural affairs across the metro.

Our main annual event

Pangea: Cultivate Our Cultures

Pangea is a free, indoor, one-day family celebration of the rich cultural diversity in the Fargo-Moorhead community, held annually in the month of November at the Heritage Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead.

The event draws community members together to share and learn about the crafts, skills, and talents of the diverse cultural groups that live in the area through cultural performances, ethnic food, relevant cultural exhibits, and children's activities.

Attendance grew steadily every year, with more than 1,800 attendees in 2019. The celebration was held virtually in 2020 and 2021.
